Ardmore phosphate product in demand

Centrex Metals has secured its second sales contract for high-quality phosphate rock concentrate from the Ardmore project, south of Mount Isa.

New Zealand-based Ballance Agri-Nutrients has previously trialled 400 wet tonnes of ore from Ardmore to produce single superphosphate.

It will buy a further 5000 wet tonnes of concentrate when Centrex Metals kicks off trial production through a 70tph modular processing plant.

The $4 million plant, fabricated by CDE Global, is expected to arrive on site in June.

Centrex said it was progressing all required activities to enable it to begin mining and processing at Ardmore this year.

This included logistics, concentrate sales, contracting and other operational activities.

Chief executive officer Simon Slesarewich said the Ballance contract validated the quality of Ardmore’s product and its attractiveness to the target market.
