Organisers of the Townsville Industry Breakfast have released the list of projects to be addressed at the September 6 event.
North Queensland Stadium Project
A update will be given on the North Queensland Stadium Project. This exciting $250 million project has a strong focus on providing local suppliers with full, fair and reasonable opportunity to be involved. A project overview will be provided, including key requirements the Queensland Government is progressing to enable this project to advance. Details will be provided on how businesses can better position themselves and be competitive for work on the project. The stadium is anticipated to provide a catalyst for urban regeneration in Townville, attracting further investment into the region and helping to restore confidence in the community.
Lendlease – Defence Project LAND 121
Lendlease Construction Manager, Ben Prest will present on the next large redevelopment at Lavarack Barracks called LAND 121. This $157M upgrade which commenced in August 2016 will revitalise the 3CSSB & 10FSB units at Lavarack Barracks. The LAND121 Project is the facilities component of the LAND 121 acquisition project, which involves the construction of facilities across eight Defence Bases and 17 units nationally. The facilities comprise new workshops, quartermaster stores, SAL’s (Showers and lockers) , vehicle shelters, weighbridge stations, AdBlue facilities, loading ramps, extensive civil works including pavement and storm water retention, and site infrastructure upgrade and reticulation works.
Townsville City Council – Cleveland Bay Purification Plant Project
Townsville City Council Senior Project Manager – Major Projects, Robert Kent, will present on the Cleveland Bay Purification Plant Process Upgrade project. The $51m project is currently in the design stage and construction planned to commence mid-2017. The project will include alterations and upgrades to various plant process assets including inlet pressure mains, bypass structures, construction of an elevated ultrafiltration membrane tank, civil construction works, upgrade to the outfall pipeline, and associated electrical and mechanical work. The development of detailed designs will be undertaken with the involvement of early construction tenderers.
