A continuous miner has been partially buried in a roof fall at Bounty Mining’s Cook Colliery, south of Blackwater.
The company said the incident happened on Thursday (October 17), and did not result in any injuries.
However it has halted production, as efforts continue to recover the CM13 continuous miner involved.
Bounty said today that it expected mining to recommence later this week with the company’s second continuous miner in another area of the panel being mined, following a full review of the mining process.
It is yet to determine the full impact of the incident on October production.
In an announcement to the stock exchange on Wednesday (Oct 23) Bounty reported that the continuous miner caught in the roof fall had been successfully extracted and was being inspected for damage.
