Rockhampton Regional Council is hosting a forum on Tuesday next week (October 25) for local suppliers seeking work opportunities and tender information.
Council chief executive officer Evan Pardon said the 2016 Supplier Forum was an excellent opportunity for potential suppliers and businesses to find out about the council’s tender opportunities, how to navigate tender documents and how to generally do business with council.
“We utilised 773 local suppliers during 2015-16 and we certainly wouldn’t have been able to operate successfully without their specialist services and products as sometimes we simply can’t supply things ourselves or we don’t have that expertise,” he said.
“I’m really encouraging businesses to come along, ask questions, understand how council operates and most importantly, help suppliers understand what they need to do.”
The event will be held across two hour-long sessions, starting at 7am and at 8am, at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre auditorium, corner of Derby and East streets, Rockhampton.
This forum will give suppliers an understanding of:
- Upcoming tender opportunities
- Navigating the tender document
- How tenders are evaluated and awarded
- Hints to improve tender submissions.
