Gladstone Regional Council has awarded a $2.45 million contract to locally-based QMC Group to complete Stage 1 of the Harvey Road Intersection Upgrade Project at Clinton.
The Stage 1 upgrade incorporates the section of Harvey Road stretching 550 metres from the Dawson Highway roundabout to the C & K Clinton Community Childcare Centre.
The upgrade will improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety on the busy street via the installation of a signalised intersection adjacent to the Clinton State School entrance.
Works are scheduled to start this month with completion due by March, 2018, weather permitting.
Initial works have already been completed with the removal and replacement of kerb and channel adjacent to Clinton State School finalised prior to Christmas last year, and pavement upgrade along 220m of the school frontage concluded prior to the recommencement of school in January this year.
The project is jointly funded by the Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council.
