New Century Resources is running slurry through cleaners 2B, 3B and 4B at its processing plant as it ramps up to become a 12Mtpa operation.
Commissioning the units will allow the full cleaner circuit of the Century zinc mine processing plant to be incorporated into New Century’s tailings reprocessing operations for the first time.
The company recently completed a $42.5 million capital raising to fund plans to double plant capacity at the Century zinc mine.
It is targeting ramp-up to a 12Mtpa mining rate in FY20, bring on additional plant capacity and a fourth mining cannon.
New Century said the planned cleaner circuit upgrade was delivered on schedule and budget.
The project was implemented by the New Century Resources Project Implementation Team, led by manager Chris Portelli.
Some of the key contractors engaged included Satin Touch – high pressure cleaning and refurbishment for cells, Workpac and 2PH Contracting – skilled labour, UGL – electrical and instrumentation works, and Nashie Engineering – control engineers.
“New Century will provide an update on operational progress in approximately one month, once slurry commissioning and initial optimisation of the full cleaner circuit is further advanced,” it said in a statement to the market.
