LDI Construction is making solid progress on the civil and foundation works for World Class Global’s Nova Light tower project in Cairns.
Project manager Paul Kelly said the work began in April and the team had completed 92 CFA (continuous flight auger) piles for the core.
Work was now under way to install 202 Franki piles, with completion expected mid-July, he said.
“We have recently closed the tender for the main building contract and are currently evaluating these to select a preferred contractor – this will be ongoing for the next month or so,” Mr Kelly said.
“We are aiming to award the tender by August/September and commence the tower construction shortly after.”
The project under way is the first stage in the planned $550 million, seven-tower Nova development in the Cairns CBD.
Mr Kelly said LDI Construction was working on foundations for the first two towers, which would share a common podium.
