Mining lease granted for Dysart East

The State Government has granted a mining lease for Bengal Coal’s planned Dysart East mine near in central Queensland out to 2039.

Queensland Resources Council chief executive Ian Macfarlane said the planned underground coal mine near Dysart had the potential to create much-needed construction jobs and 200 operational jobs for the life of the mine.

“Around 200 jobs could be created for the Dysart East Underground Coal Mine which has a target to produce about 1.9 million tonnes per annum of prime hard coking coal,” Mr Macfarlane said.

“It’s more good news for the coal industry.”
