One of the more remote places in the country could be the site for a grid-scale battery project.
The Cairns Post is saying the largest grid-scale battery in the world could be built by a Tesla partnership at the site of a proposed wind farm in far north Queensland.
The Kaban Green Power Hub near Ravenshoe is to include 29 wind turbines and a battery storage unit.
Neoen Australia’s head of wind development Garth Heron said the company had called for tenders for equipment for the Kaban project.
Neon last year built the Hornsdale Power Reserve in South Australia featuring the world’s largest lithium ion battery.
