Backing for METS innovation

Backing for METS innovation The State Government is organising a series of workshops for companies whose products or services target the mining industry.

Companies in the early stages of developing innovative products or services for the mining industry are being encouraged to take advantage of a State Government initiative over the next month.

The Government and METS Ignited this week announced details of a regional pre-accelerator program, consisting of three workshops to be held in October and November, for interested companies.

Mining equipment, technology and services businesses and start-ups involved in the workshops will also have the opportunity to showcase their product at an all-day event in Brisbane on November 21.

The participating industry groups are the Resource Industry Network (Mackay), Capricorn Enterprise (Rockhampton), Gladstone Engineering Alliance, Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise and Central Highlands Development Corporation (Emerald).

Each region will hold industry-specific workshops where businesses will be able to test and build on their product before the Brisbane showcase event.

The intensive workshops, delivered by KPMG, will focus on understanding customer value, value proposition and understanding the problem-solution fit.

Each regional workshop is limited to 10 businesses and further information is available from the respective industry group in that region.

Expressions of interest close on October 17.
