Greenpower Energy is preparing for its maiden drill campaign at the Golden Ant gold projects north-east of Townsville.
Permitting and approvals were in place and the first drill program was planned to commence in November, the company said.
The work will include the three former mine sites of Big Rush, Camel Creek and Golden Cup.
“This drilling announcement marks a significant point in the transformation of this company and we believe the three projects will provide real opportunity to build on the known gold endowment that was uncovered here and mined up until the 1990s,” managing director Cameron Mclean said.
“Our contractors are ready to go and board and management are keenly awaiting commencement of all exploration activities across the new company projects.”
Greenpower is set to change its name to Great Northern Minerals from next month.
