Global bidders in Brisbane equipment auction

Close to 2000 bidders from 42 countries participated online and in person at Ritchie Brothers’ multimillion-dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Brisbane recently.

More than 1500 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction for more than 150 owners.

That’s the most items the company has ever sold in a single Australian auction.

A few of the sales highlights included:

  • A 2013 McCloskey Bros. I44R crawler impact crusher that sold for $390,000
  • A 2007 Caterpillar D9T crawler tractor that sold for $350,000
  • A 2007 Caterpillar 825H compactor that sold for $315,000

Most of the equipment in the auction, around 59 percent, was sold to buyers outside of Queensland, from as far away as France, Thailand and the United States. Online bidders purchased close to 22 percent of the equipment sold.

Two days later Ritchie Bros. conducted another unreserved public auction in Australia, at its site in Geelong, registering more than 1900 people from 33 countries to bid on more than 1000 items up for sale.

Ritchie Bros. next unreserved public auctions in Australia will be held on September 6 in Brisbane and September 8 in Geelong. For more information please visit rbauction.com.
