The first works package in Townsville City Council’s recycled water reuse scheme is out to tender.
It includes manufacturing and installation of a recycled water pipe through Annandale, starting at Yolanda Drive and finishing at the Glendale Bridge.
The tender package also includes the installation of new sewage infrastructure to run parallel with the water reuse scheme pipes through Annandale. Visit https://www.tenderlink.com/townsville/
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said further work packages on the project would be released shortly.
Cr Hill said the council had deliberately structured the work packages on the recycled water reuse scheme in a way that ensured local firms had the best chance of securing a slice of the project.
“The project has been broken up into six packages to make sure local businesses get their opportunity to work on the project,” Cr Hill said.
The recycled water reuse scheme is a key plank in the council’s 3-point water security solution and includes reusing water for public parklands, sports fields and industrial use.
