It’s steady as she goes for development in the Surat Basin over the next six years if the non-resident population is anything to go by.
The Queensland Government’s statisticians office has released its most modest and highest projections for FIFO/DIDO (fly in-fly out and drive in-drive out ) population numbers in 2022.
This first is based in based on projects that have reached final investment decisions and the second on those that have an Environmental Impact Assessment approved.
FIFO/DIDO numbers will be down to around 2870 and 3820 respectively in 2022. That’s from a peak of 14490 in 2014.
