Full details HERE Production lifts at Dugald River Dugald River produced 49,049 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate for the first quarter of 2021, 38 per cent higher than the same time last year. Mine owner MMG said this was due to higher ore milled (13%), higher zinc feed grade (15%) and higher recovery (6%). "The higher grades are due to improvements in mining performance and better extraction methods to reduce waste, as well as mine sequencing," the company said in its quarterly report. Dugald River is expected to produce between 180,000 and 190,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate during 2021. Full details HERE Aeon updates Walford Creek mineral resource Aeon Metals has provided updated mineral resource estimates for its Walford Creek copper-cobalt project in North-West Queensland. The Vardy and Marley copper mineral resources have increased to 19.6Mt at 1.08 per cent copper, 0.15 per cent cobalt, 31g/t silver, 1.03 per cent lead, 0.73 per cent zinc and 0.07 per cent nickel. The previous mineral resources were 18.4Mt at 1.05 per cent copper, 0.14 per cent cobalt, 29g/t silver, 0.90 per cent lead and 0.72 per cent zinc. No nickel numbers were estimated previously. "The improvement in the resource through the refined understanding in the geological model together with using density weighting and dynamic interpolation has further strengthened the already robust Mineral Resource Estimates at Walford Creek,” Aeon managing director and chief executive officer Fred Hess said. Full details HERE Citigold launches 2021 exploration effort Citigold Corporation says it has commenced the 2021 exploration program at its Charters Towers gold project. The program aims to increase the density of sampling across all of Citigold’s exploration land titles, filling in gaps from the previous successful sampling program completed at the end of 2020. Full details HERE Old open-cut at centre of EQ Resources campaign Mount Carbine tungsten mine owner EQ Resources has revealed details of the first three holes in a campaign targeting potential mineralised zones (>0.5 per cent WO3) that have been interpreted beneath the site's historic open pit. It said significant wolframite-scheelite mineralisation was visible in the core, with the structure being intersected where expected. One drill hole intersected an unexpected wide intersection of the site's Iolanthe Zone at shallow levels, and this remained open to the east, EQ Resources said. The company will publish the results of the phase 1 program once all six holes have been completed. Full details HERE First-pass drilling at Pyramid gold project Minotaur Exploration's inaugural 12-hole RC drill program at the Gettysberg gold prospect is complete. The company said field observations were consistent with features associated with gold mineralisation in historic drill holes and support the geological model.785 samples have been submitted for gold analysis, from 1416m of drilling, with results expected around the end of April. The Gettysberg prospect lies within Minotaur's newly acquired Pyramid tenement group, 180km south of Townsville. Full details HERE Update on Lady Ethleen metallurgical test work Cyclone Metals (previously Cape Lambert Resources) has announced results from samples collected from its Lady Ethleen project in North-West Queensland for the proposed Glyleach test work program. The samples have arrived in the lab facility in Perth and the metallurgical testing program has begun. The program is anticipated to take between two and three months and will test the leaching efficiency that could be expected from the Lady Ethleen material in several different leaching environments. Full details HERE High-sulphidation gold-silver-copper system at Fish Creek Great Southern Mining says recent additional interpretation of data from the Fish Creek prospect at Edinburgh Park in North Queensland points to a well-defined gold, silver and base metals anomalism. Chief executive officer Sean Gregory said the interpretation of the geochemistry data revealed a high-sulphidation (HS) system similar to the Mount Carlton mine, located 25km to the south. "Mount Carlton was discovered by the team led by GSN’s chairman, Mr John Terpu, for Conquest Mining which has gone on to become the multi-billion-dollar Evolution Mining,” he said. “The Fish Creek prospect moves alongside the Leichhardt Creek prospect as two of our most promising targets within the Edinburgh Park Project in North Queensland.” Full details HERE
