CQUniversity has partnered with infrastructure consulting firm AECOM to launch a scholarship in memory of former AECOM Central Queensland manager Warren ‘Wazza’ Williams.
The Warren Williams Memorial Scholarship recognises his outstanding contribution to the engineering profession and the Central Queensland region.
The scholarship is available to CQU students studying a Bachelor of Engineering, to support them through their second or third years of study.
Each successful recipient will receive $10,000 over two years to support them through their studies and be offered an undergraduate internship at AECOM’s Rockhampton or Mackay offices.
“Warren was a caring and very genuine person, who had a hugely positive influence on everyone who knew him,” AECOM Mackay office manager Danny Birkett said.
“We are proud to be continuing Warren’s legacy by supporting local engineering students in the Central Queensland region.”
Scholarship applications for the forthcoming academic year are now open to existing CQU undergraduates studying engineering.
