Aeon Metals has started a new drilling campaign at its Walford Creek copper and cobalt project in North-West Queensland.
The company said the first of two drill rigs had arrived on site and drilling of the first reverse circulation hole pre-collars had commenced.
It said the drilling program would focus on exploration outside its current resources boundaries.
“This drilling will include testing for continued mineralisation potential below the PY3 lode and along the significant strike extensions of the Fish River Fault,” the company said.
“It will also include testing of blue-sky exploration opportunities identified within Aeon’s broader tenement holdings at Walford Creek.”
The company said drill holes were also planned as part of priority work for the Walford Creek pre-feasibility study.
“These include holes for confirmatory geotechnical (pit walls and underground) and metallurgical assessment,” the company said.
“The second rig is expected to arrive on site over the next two weeks.”
