Mackay region’s engineering and heavy industrial sector will have the opportunity to present their products and services to Bowen Basin mining houses thanks to a program being offered by two industry groups.
Resource Industry Network and the Moranbah Traders’ Association (MTA) are offering a Promoting Innovative Solutions program to assist local businesses to refine and develop the way they present themselves and their product to the market.
In order to participate in the program businesses must have a unique cost-saving or production-efficient service or product to introduce to mine maintenance staff.
RIN manager Adrienne Rourke said the program had the dual purpose of promoting the innovative work being done by our engineering and heavy industrial businesses as well as providing those businesses with an opportunity to improve their business development skills.
“The first part of the program will be a workshop with consultant Annabel Dolphin of Miles Dolphin Consulting. The workshop will focus on developing their value proposition and presentation and pitching skills so that they have the confidence and skills to be seen in the marketplace,” Mrs Rourke said.
“The second part will be an expo-like event at Moranbah that will connect them directly with mine maintenance personnel. It is anticipated that businesses will generate new work opportunities through the introduction of their offerings to a number of different mine sites at the one event.
“The final value-add of participating will be the development of marketing materials that they will be able to use in the future as part of their everyday business.”
Expressions of Interest are due by December 5, with the workshops to commence on January 23.
Cost is $500 per RIN/MTA member organisation (maximum two representatives attend the training); or $1000 for non-members.
