Central Queensland-based company JM Kelly Builders has been awarded the tender to carry out the next stage of construction works along Yeppoon’s foreshore.
Sections of the car park area between Keppel Bay Sailing Clubhouse and the Keppel Kraken will be removed for the creation of a new 700sq m section of parkland as part of the Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre Revitalisation project.
Livingstone Shire Council said this would be offset by modifications to the remaining car park on the foreshore north of the Keppel Bay Sailing Club, the newly constructed Yeppoon Town Centre car park and on street parking along Lagoon Place which provides 366 additional car parks.
This stage of the Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre project is forecast to be completed by the end of March.
The Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre Revitalisation (Stages 3, 4 & 5) is a $53 million project jointly funded by the Australian Government ($10 million), the Queensland Government ($29 million), and Livingstone Shire Council ($14 million).
