Lendlease has released details of a planned $60 million redevelopment of the Cairns Central shopping centre in Far North Queensland.
Construction will commence soon and is expected to be completed in late 2020, the developer said.
The redevelopment will include the complete refurbishment of Myer, across a 7500sq m floorspace, and a new fresh food market hall, anchored by Woolworths.
There will be a new vehicle express ramp and new amenities including a children’s play area as well as upgrades to existing bathroom and other features.
“This is the first time Cairns Central has undergone a redevelopment since it originally opened more than 20 years ago,” centre manager Christie-Lee Jackson said.
“We’re excited to be kicking off this project that will enable us to continue to deliver on our vision to give customers exceptional shopping experiences that reflect Cairns’ vibrant and diverse community.”
