Ausmex has launched a 15,000m reverse circulation and deep diamond core drilling program at its Mt Freda complex near Cloncurry.
The program is targeting a massive sulphide, high-grade gold-copper-cobalt mineralisation.
It aims to define JORC-compliant resources over the company’s Mt Freda and Evening Star projects as well as Golden Mile – which incorporates eight historical high-grade gold prospects with more than 8km of outcropping mineralisation.
The company says it has three drilling rigs on site, with a fourth rig due shortly.
Ausmex has appointed Kieren Whittock as Queensland exploration manager to supervise and manage the extensive drilling program.
“I am extremely excited to be involved with Ausmex and to lead the Queensland discovery team,” Mr Whittock said.
“Ausmex currently hold an exciting tenement package at Cloncurry and I look forward to delivering positive results for Ausmex shareholders through high quality, targeted exploration.”
He previously headed exploration efforts at the Hastings Technology Metals Yangibana rare earths project in Western Australia.
