Expressions of Interest have opened for principle consultants to put forward their design teams for the North Queensland Stadium.
This tendering process opens up the opportunity for local Townsville North Queensland design and construction businesses to work on the $250 million stadium development.
Townsville Enterprise CEO, Patricia O’Callaghan, is urging local design and construction businesses to “strike while the iron is hot” to ensure as many jobs as possible are secured by local businesses during the stadium development and construction.
The stadium construction phase alone is proposed to create over 750 jobs, Ms O’Callaghan said.
“Townsville North Queensland local businesses have an opportunity to work together to ensure we secure our stadium as a ‘genuine article’ – Locally bidded, designed, and built Townsville infrastructure,” she said.
“A $250 million development presents significant opportunities for local businesses, but we must work together, form alliances, and support each other through the processes of securing as many jobs as we can for our region. You can lodge your EOI here.
“To hear a full overview of the stadium development and how your business can better position itself to competitively contend to work on the project, we highly encourage you to attend the Townsville Industry Breakfast held next Tuesday 6 September at RSL Stadium, Townsville. You can buy your tickets here.“
