National Plant & Equipment is hiring 16 Komatsu 830E electric drive dump trucks to Anglo American for its Capcoal Surface Operations.
It comes after the company invested in 12 of the dump trucks, measuring in at just under 7m high and 8m wide each, last year.
These were delivered and assembled at the National Plant & Equipment site in Yatala in late 2017 in an operation captured on time lapse video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk6AVKXMXZY&feature=youtu.be)
National Plant & Equipment chief executive officer Mark Ackroyd said giving mining companies the option to rent these hugely efficient trucks meant they can fluctuate with the supply and demand of their projects and not worry about capital expenditure.
The first dozen Komatsu 830E’s have since been mobilised to Anglo American’s Capcoal Surface Operations mine, located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, and the company has requested four more.
