Anglo American has entered into a share sale agreement with Batchfire Resources to sell its 100 per cent interest in the Callide thermal coal mine, 20km north-east of Biloela in Central Queensland. Announcing the deal, Anglo said the transaction remained subject to several conditions and its terms were confidential. Callide consists of an open-pit thermal coal mine and associated processing infrastructure. The operation supplies coal to the adjacent Callide power stations under long-term contracts.
