Innovative businesses in the Rockhampton region will have an opportunity to commercialise their ideas thanks to a new CQ Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) Accelerator Program.
The program is funded by the Queensland Government, Rockhampton Regional Council and METS Ignited.
It offers 10 places to start-ups or scale-ups who have an innovative, cost -saving or production efficient service that could be introduced to the mining sector.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said the program came at a very opportune time as the mining industry gained more momentum.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our local start-ups to get the assistance and mentoring they need to take their product to the next level and revolutionise the mining industry,” Mayor Strelow said.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this program at the Rockhampton SmartHub and can’t wait to see what local ideas turn into reality as a result of this program.”
The CQ Mets Accelerator program will be delivered between March 7 and April 11, 2019 by Adaptive Solutions founder Bill McKeague.
Applications close February 25 2019.
