EOI sought for flood mitigation works

Flood mitigation works for Rockhampton are starting to take shape with expressions of interest sought for key earthworks.

A key component of the council flood management strategy is the South Rockhampton Flood Levee project (SRFL).

With recent announcements of funding for the project from both the Federal and State Governments and the State Government declaring the SRFL a prescribe project, Rockhampton Regional Council invites Expressions of Interest EOI 13300 – Construction of the South Rockhampton Flood Levee.

Further north and Port of Townsville Limited is seeking tender submissions for the construction of a cargo terminal at Berth 4.

Together with seperate projects, including the recently completed Berth 4 upgrade and the ongoing procurement and  installation of a ship to shore crane, Port of Townsville Limited aims to create a cargo handling facility at Berth 4 to facilitate growth in containerised and general cargo at the Port of Townsville.

Construction of the Berth 4 Cargo Terminal includes construction of pavements, lighting, fencing, washbay, amenities, gatehouse, utilities and car parking over a site of approximately 1.8 hectares.

A level crossing is also included in the construction works to allow
direct access to Berth 4 from the cargo terminal site.
