Metallica Minerals has paid tribute to the contribution of founder and non-executive director, Andrew Gillies.
Mr Gillies retired from Metallica’s board of directors for personal reasons, chairman Peter Turnbull said.
“As Metallica’s founding director, Andrew has made a pivotal contribution to the Metallica over a 20-year period and on behalf of the board and management team,” Mr Turnbull said.
“I thank Andrew sincerely for his focus, dedication and hard work to progress Metallica’s corporate and project strategies over two decades.
“I understand his desire to now pursue other interests and opportunities after stepping down as Metallica’s Managing Director in July 2015.
“Both the board and management wish Andrew all the very best in his future endeavours.”
Metallica most recently announced it would be mining the Urquhart bauxite lease (pictured) near Weipa on Cape York by mid year.
