New home for engineers

New home for engineers

The peak industry body for public works engineers has a new base in Brisbane.

The Institute of Public Works Engineers Queensland (IPWEAQ) has set up business in a building called Public Works Professionals.

It’s also home for aligned groups including Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA), Centre for Pavement Engineering Education (CPEE), Local Government Finance Professionals (LGFP) and Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA).

It’s located at 6 Eagleview Place, Eagle Farm.

At around 1020 members, the Queensland chapter is the largest in Australian and larger than the New Zealand national group.

In 1984, IPWEAQ was volunteer run and had less than 100 members.
